Motheo TVET College is one of the four public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in the Free State, serving the Motheo and Xhariep Districts. The College is led by Principal Prof Dipiloane Phutsisi, who has also served as President of the South African Public Colleges Organisation (SACPO). Since assuming leadership in 2013, she has guided the institution with a vision of developing a skilled and capable workforce while preserving its heritage and building for the future.
The College has established strong partnerships with industry, government institutions, local and international organisations, higher education institutions and Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) to strengthen skills development, enhance staff and student capacity, support research and innovation, and expand work-integrated learning opportunities. These collaborations also promote artisan development, technology enhancement, climate-smart initiatives and improved employment and self-employment prospects for graduates.
Working closely with the Free State Provincial Government and other strategic partners, Motheo TVET College continues to address socio-economic challenges, particularly youth unemployment, by aligning its training initiatives with industry needs and regional development priorities. The College remains committed to producing skilled graduates who contribute meaningfully to economic growth and sustainable community development.
